To CareerBuilder:
It seems you must have been under some deadline pressure to get out your "What to Do When You're Fired" column over at cnn.com. You told me to smile, review what I did to lose my job and consider it a blessing in disguise. Noble pursuits, all, and as you present them, easy to achieve.
Trouble is, being fired means I no longer have income, and without income, I have no way to pay bills. Furthermore, leaving one job and walking quickly into another's open arms is increasingly difficult, as you point out by citing growing unemployment rates.
I hope the logical gulf between not having steady income and maintaining a goofy demeanor is simply an oversight and not a back-handed admonition to abuse narcotics. As you present the prospect of job loss, hitting the Vicodin is about the only way I could miss a mortgage payment with a smile.
Please review your silly suggestions and consider a re-write before some poor soul takes your suggestions seriously.
